I’m Todd Whitlock, owner of Franklin IT Solutions.
Twenty-five years ago, I quit my job as an IT engineer and started a business dedicated to giving smaller companies in Richmond IT support the way it should be.
Over those years, three things have happened:
- We’ve helped more businesses than I can count. (I’ve actually served as a fractional Chief Information Officer for some of them.)
- Technology has improved exponentially.
- IT support has gotten demonstrably worse.
Each week I hear the same complaints from office managers and business owners:
- When I call to get info about IT support, they transfer me to a salesperson!
- Why is my provider constantly trying to “upsell” me?
- Do I really need all the services I’m paying for?
- Why do they send out a different technician every time?
- I hate the way they talk to me in “computer-ese” and make me feel like an idiot!
- What if I don’t want a long-term contract?
- Every time I turn around, I’m getting another invoice!
- Don’t they realize that every hour we spend waiting for service, it’s an hour we’re not working?!
Can I be blunt? Everything about all of that is wrong. Shame on any service provider who calls that “support. Listen, if you’re sick of the status quo—tired of companies more interested in selling you than serving you, give me a call. We’ll give you IT support the way it should be.
